McGregor, absent since his leg injury during the first round of his bout with Dustin Poirier in 2021, returns to the ring to face Michael Chandler in UFC 303 slated for June 29. Initially scheduled for a clash last December, then considered for UFC 300, the fight now lands at the end of International Fight Week.

Chandler shares his anticipation on Twitter: “This is going to be a special camp for me. I’ve never been away from competition this long in the last 22 years of hand to hand combat. Laying a foundation now. I break him within two rounds. 114 days.” McGregor confirms the date, stating, “June 29. – yeah, call that.”

UFC CEO Dana White refrains from confirming McGregor’s return date, citing autumn. Reflecting on McGregor’s reliability, White praises his business acumen despite past challenges. McGregor, with only one win since 2016, faces Chandler after his loss to Poirier.

McGregor’s journey back to the octagon culminates in a showdown with Michael Chandler, marking almost three years since his last appearance.
