According to Israeli media sources, law enforcement intervened against a large gathering of demonstrators, estimated to be in the thousands, when they attempted to obstruct Kaplan Street in downtown Tel Aviv.
The protesters are calling for immediate elections and expressing frustration towards the Israeli prime minister for his inability to secure the release of captives still held in Gaza.
It is reported that similar demonstrations are taking place at numerous other sites across the capital city of Israel.
