Say Goodbye to Belly Fat by Using Dr. Naheed Ali’s Mealtime Tips

Syncing your meal times with your body’s natural rhythms, as recommended by Dr. Naheed Ali, can help you say goodbye to stubborn belly fat.

A doctor recently shared some tricks on when to eat to tackle that stubborn belly fat. Dr. Naheed Ali, based in Florida, spilled the beans to GB News in the UK last month. He suggests syncing meal times with your body’s natural clock, the circadian rhythms. “Kickstart your day around 6 am and wrap up activities by 10 pm,” Dr. Ali advised. “Aligning meal times, especially breakfast and dinner, with these rhythms can help amp up your body’s fat-burning game.”

Belly fat comes in two types: the visible and the sneaky kind hiding deep inside. It’s that sneaky fat that’s the real troublemaker, releasing substances that mess with blood pressure and cause inflammation.

But don’t worry, there’s hope in timing your meals right. Dr. Ali suggests having breakfast within an hour of waking up, ideally around 7 am, to rev up your metabolism. And for dinner, aim to finish up at least two to three hours before bedtime, around 7 pm. This gives your body enough time to digest before metabolism slows down during sleep.

This mealtime magic taps into how metabolism works – your body’s energy factory. People with a fast metabolism burn calories more efficiently, even during sleep. Research shows our bodies burn fewer calories at night and peak in calorie-burning in the afternoon and evening.

A 2019 study suggested having two to three meals a day, with the last one around 3 or 4 pm. Bye-bye late-night snacks! Embracing a 12 to 16-hour fast could help lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and control hunger, aligning with your body’s natural rhythms.

But not everyone’s ready to eat like clockwork. The researchers acknowledge that eating so early might not fit everyone’s lifestyle. Their advice? Load up on calories earlier in the day or extend that fasting window.

Dr. Ali stands by his routine, championing its role in improving insulin sensitivity and managing hunger hormones. Insulin plays a crucial role in controlling blood sugar levels. Belly fat and a sedentary lifestyle can lead to insulin resistance, which can lead to prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes.
