In the heart of Gaza, hunger spreads like whispers in the wind, says the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA). They plead for a ceasefire during Ramadan, urging for peace amidst the hunger.

Reports swirl that Israeli forces blocked many Palestinians from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem as Ramadan approached. It’s a sign of tension that refuses to ease.

Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’s political bureau, points fingers at Israel, accusing them of failing to secure a ceasefire before Ramadan, the sacred month of fasting.

The toll of violence is stark: over 31,045 Palestinians lost their lives, and 72,654 suffered injuries from Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7. Meanwhile, in Israel, 1,139 perished in Hamas’s attacks, with many more held as captives. The cycle of violence seems relentless.
